Pumpkin Patch with Carter!

Carter getting ready to listen to the speaker tell him all about pumpkins!

We went through the cornstalk maze a little differently than most;  we went in through the entrance and exited through the entrance!  Nope, I was not leading!!!
Carter LOVED playing in the hay!
 Carter and his buddy, Easton!
Better late than never to get a picture of Carter and his teacher, Ms. Kelly!  Such a precious lady!
Racing through the hay tunnels was a blast!
Carter learned how to play tug of war.  He really dug his heals in!
Pumpkin Roll was fun to watch!  Took real concentration!
 Exhausted!
 Lunch anyone?
Mommy's personal day was well spent.  Quality time with my Bug!

 One of my favorites!

Picking his own pumpkin right out of the patch was really fun for him!  So many to choose from!

Grandparents Lunch!

Today was Grandparents Lunch at Elm Tree.  Mimi and Papaw each took a vacation day to extend their weekend to eat with Carter.  They brought Chick Fil A and Carter told them all about his big school.  I took off work to take a few pictures but missed most of their fun!  After lunch, Carter took them to the Book Fair.  He came home with 3 Star Wars books!  Can't wait to read them tonight!  After the Book Fair, they visited Carter's classroom.  They met his teacher, Mrs. Kelly, saw his cubby, his seat, and admired his art on the wall!  Mimi even called to say she wants his Alien when it comes home!  Carter talked about his special lunch all the way home today (well, until he fell asleep!)  Thanks Mimi and Papaw for coming and making Carter feel special!  What a great day!  By the way, Carter just asked who was coming to eat with him tomorrow!  Guess he wants this special treatment daily!

Wildcat Dad

Roy was off this past Friday.  He spent the morning helping out at Carter's school.  Carter loved having his dad near him.  Roy brought Carter lunch and they ate together.  What a special memory!  This picture is hanging in the main hallway at Elm Tree Elementary.  Roy said he would go again soon!

First Day of School 2011

Carter and Grayson were very excited to go to school today.  It was Carter's FIRST day in kindergarten!!!!  This is how he looked when we left the house............
Then we got to school, found his seat, and met his teacher.  He was nervous...........
Mrs. Kelly assuring him everything was okay and that he would have lots of fun today..................
EXHAUSTED!  A great first day!  He:  played outside, answered a question in the first assembly in the microphone, got his tray from the cafeteria and ate the whole hamburger, checked out his first library book, met some new friends (spoke mostly about Alex), AND wants to go back tomorrow!  I would say
Day 1 = SUCCESS!

Flying High!

While we were in Branson this last time, the boys wanted to fly in a helicopter.  We had tried last summer for Carter but he was afraid so we did not fly.  This summer was different!  Carter loved it and has continually said how awesome it was!  Grayson was not afraid either!  He loved it too!  Although it was quite expensive for all of us to fly, it is a memory that will not be forgotten!  I am certain flying in a helicopter will be a yearly experience from now on!  Such fun!

Summer 2011

Swim Ranch!  Always learn so much and have so much fun!  Carter moved up to Lane 1 this year while Grayson and I were in Water Babies.  Both boys did a great job!  So proud of them!

Baking with Mimi!  The chocolate chip cookies were delicious!  Yummy!

We went to El Dorado for 10 days this summer.  Swimming in the pool was so much fun!  Carter jumped off of the diving board, learned to hold his breath and dive for rings, and can turn 2 flips in the water with one breath!  He is becoming a little fish!  Correction, a BIG, STRONG fish!  Grayson showed no fear of the water this year and even swam around with his floaties on.  He jumped to me, allowed Carter to pull him through the water and enjoyed jumping off of Mimi's raft!  Special memories are made every summer spending time with Mimi and Papaw!
